Rules for 3M High School Rec League

Coaches Responsibility:

· Coaches are expected to maintain control of their assistant coach, players and parents. Any and all complaints related to the game are to be dealt with in a civilized manner after the game and/or through your club’s director.

· Coaches are asked to instill in their players a commitment to participate in league games on a regular basis. Coaches must check with their team that enough players will be available for all scheduled games prior to notifying the opposing coach. Home team coach must contact visiting team coach by Wednesday evening before the Saturday game to confirm the date, location, field and time of the game. If a game must be postponed due to a shortage of players (less than 8), the coach should notify their league director and then contact the coach of the opposing team. This reason will only be accepted once during the season. Having

8 - 11 players available for a game must be conveyed during the coach’s communication at this time.

· Games cancelled due to inclement weather or field conditions, shall be rescheduled for Sunday, 8 days after the scheduled game (if at all possible). Home team coaches must contact their league director to confirm field availability for that date and contact the opposing team’s coach of the rescheduled game (date and time).

· Players should be present one-half (1/2) hour prior to the start of the game. Visiting teams will be given 15 minutes from the scheduled start of a game to field a team. Coaches must have medical release forms in their possession at all games. Referees will be informed to check these forms prior to the start of each game.

· Only registered (local club and NJYSA) players may participate in the games.

· Coaches shall email the result of games, including score and any cancelations, to Carl Kosmyna (carl@kosmyna.com) so that schedules and standings can be kept accurate and up-to-date. Dates of rescheduled games must be sent as soon as possible so the schedules can be updated. Rules, schedules, and standings will be available on the Old Bridge Soccer League website, www.obsl.com.

Rules:

· Games will consist of two-40 minute halves for the Junior division and two-45 minute halves for the Mid & Senior divisions.

· Teams must play with an equal number of players on the field. If a team does not have a sufficient number of players (less than 8) to begin the game, it will be counted as a forfeit and not rescheduled. If the team has 8 – 10 players – the opponent can arbitrarily provide the team with players from its own team if they choose (but are not obligated); teams will play even aside; however the shorthanded team must play to the extent they have players (no substitutes).

** Chronic shortages of players for games (anything less than 11) will be brought to the attention of the league as it is unfair to opponents to need to play with less than a full team on a regular basis.

· Teams are encouraged to keep the game competitive. No team should “run up” the score. Teams should not win by more than 6 goals.

· Substitutions can be made on goal kicks, after a goal and on throw-ins. If the team in possession of the ball substitutes on a throw-in, the opposing team may substitute an equal number of players.

· A player receiving a “red card” shall be suspended for the next game. Each league may suspend a player for a longer period of time for a serious infraction. Two yellow cards in the same game results in a red card and a suspension for the next game. It is the coach’s responsibility to monitor “red” cards.

Take the NJ Turnpike to Exit 9.
After leaving tollbooth bear left onto Route 18 South towards East Brunswick.
Take Route 18 about 2 & 7/10 miles to Cranbury Road / Rt. 535 heading towards Cranbury exit.
Take Cranbury Road for about 4 miles to Dunhams Corner Road making a right at the traffic light. (There is a fork for Dunhams Corner ~1 mile down Cranbury Road - Do not take this fork, stay on Cranbury Road for the additional 3 miles)
Take Dunhams Corner Road for about 1/2 mile and the entrance to Heavenly Farms is on the right

Heavenly Farms - Turf A & B: Continue approximately 400 yards - fields will be on the right
All other Fields: Continue past the Turf fields to the parking area and enter Dideriksen Park through the gated entrance.

Alternately from Route 9 you can take the Route 18 exit, go north about 6 ½ miles to Cranbury Road and follow step 4 above

Etra Park

From Rt. 33 - From Rt 33, go west to (jughandle) left turn onto Butcher Rd (Applegarth Rd - Rt 619 at Hights Farm Equipment). Go 1 mile to end of Rt 619, turn right. Etra Park is 1 1/3 miles on right.

From Rt 571 - From shore points, take Route 571 north to first right turn in Mercer County (Disbrowhill Road). Fields are on left.

Airport Road Complex

From shore points, take Route 539 into East Windsor/Hightstown. Turn left on Airport Road across from the Peddie School golf course.

From Route 571 into Hightstown. At T-intersection by Peddie School go left to 3rd right, Airport Road. From Rt. 33 West to Hightstown, go thru downtown to Bicycle Rack. Turn left on Airport Road

Phillips Park # 1 & #2

From South:GSP North to Rt 18 North to Maple Street exit( left side exit)(Wa Wa on left)make left onto Maple St and follow to end into park.From North:NJ Turnpike South to exit 9 onto Rt 18 South to Maple Street. Make right onto Maple St and follow to end into Park.

Manalapan Recreation Complex (NO PETS)

From South: Rt 9 North to Rt 33 West. Make a right turn onto Rt 527 North. At first traffic light make a right turn onto Main St/ Tenant Rd ( CR 3). Make a left turn at first traffic light onto Rt 522. Rec Center will be on left approx 3/4 mile. Make left into park

From North: Rt 9 South to Taylor Mills Rd Exit. Make right turn onto Taylor Mills, take to end( Rec Center will be directly in front of you). Make left turn on Rt 522 and first right into park.

From West: Rt 33 East. Make jughandle left turn onto Rt 527 ( NOT 527A). Follow directions from South.

From East: Rt 33 East and follow directions from South or Rt 18 to Tenant Road /Rt 520 exit. At exit make right turn onto Tenant Rd. Stay Straight on Tenant Road, proceed over Rt 9. Make a right turn onto Taylor Mills Road. Take Taylor Mills to end make left onto Rt 522 and immediate left into park.

Wemrock Brook School

From Route 9: Take Route 522 West toward Englishtown approx. 3.3 miles to the second traffic light (Tennant/CR 3); Make a left onto Tennant and go approx. .7 miles to first light (Millhurst Road/CR 527); Make a right onto Millhurst Road; WBE School is on the right approximately ½ mile.

Manalapan Middle School

From Route 33 East Take the necessary routes to Route 33 East to Manalapan. Pass towns of Hightstown, Twin Rivers, and Millstone. After COUNTRY LANES BOWLING ALLEY on right, approximately 2 miles and/or 3 lights, look for sign TENNENT, ENGLISHTOWN, 2nd RIGHT. Take jug handle after traffic light (Aerovision Satellite & Guss) crossing over Route 33 to ENGLISHTOWN, 527 North (Millhurst Road). At STOP sign (intersection), continue on 527 North (Millhurst Road). Approximately one mile on left, take second driveway to parking lot (BLUE SIGN) Manalapan Englishtown Middle School.

From Garden State Parkway South to Route 9 South Take second exit after Raritan Toll (Exit 123). Sign will say Route 9 - Freehold. Continue down Route 9 South, passing the towns of Sayreville, Old Bridge and Marlboro. Several miles down, you will be approaching Caldor/Pathmark located on the left side of the highway, your exit is near. When you approach Covered Bridge (adult community homes) on RIGHT, look for exit sign reading Englishtown, Tennent, Gordon’s Corner Road. Take this exit Go up the hill and bear to FIRST right to Gordon’s Corner Road - Englishtown. Continue down approximately 3-4 miles to very end of Road (Exxon station on right). Make a LEFT turn going over a small bridge. Go through two traffic lights, cross over another bridge BEARING to LEFT (Park Avenue). On right, there’s an AGWAY, make RIGHT (Conover Street changes to MILLHURST ROAD after railroad tracks). Make second right into Manalapan-Englishtown Middle School’s parking lot (BLUE SIGN).

Directions from Route 9 North Take necessary roads to get to Route 9 North towards Freehold. You will approach signs to Freehold Raceway Mall and Freehold Raceway Park. After traffic light, passing Saturn Car Dealer on right, look for sign Englishtown, Tennent. Make this right. At bottom of ramp, make another right onto Route 522 towards Englishtown. Continue down to very end to traffic light (Old Fire Station straight ahead). Make a LEFT at light, going over a small bridge BEARING to LEFT (Park Avenue). On right, there’s an AGWAY, make RIGHT (Conover Street changes to MILLHURST ROAD after railroad tracks). Make second right into Manalapan-Englishtown Middle School’s parking lot (BLUE SIGN).

From New Jersey Turnpike South Take NJ Turnpike, South. Take Exit #9 to Route 18, EAST BRUNSWICK. You will be passing through several lights and shopping centers When you approach Brunswick Square Mall (Macy’s/Penny’s) on right, approximately one mile past this, you will take exit off Route 18 to Englishtown Road (527 South). Continue down Englishtown Road approximately 10 miles passing Englishtown Auction on left. Shortly after auction, you will approach an EXXON station on left and Brookside Tavern on right continue over a small bridge. Go through two traffic lights, cross over another bridge BEARING to LEFT (Park Avenue). On right, there’s an AGWAY, make RIGHT (Conover Street changes to MILLHURST ROAD after railroad tracks). Make second right into Manal apan-English town Middle School’s parking lot (BLUE SIGN).
